How to do effective hiring !!


Recruitment or hiring is a core function of human resources management. Any business success is depends on the right amount of talented team, assembly of a right team is a most important task business owner has to do.  

Recruitment is a process of attracting, shortlisting, selecting and appointing suitable candidate for jobs within organisation. (wiki/Recruitment)

while hiring Human resource management team needs to consider how the business will grow & expand in coming years. means HR should have holistic picture about company present & future state. so that he can select candidates for the present, but also for future needs.

Now the challenging question is How? to hire right candidates, right hiring process is very important. hence HR professionals & business owners must identify right hiring process.  

following are few points to identify right talent on-board.
  1. Review candidates credentials: collect all relevant information of candidate, like qualification, experience, achievements etc. its best way to know the candidate before the interview, which will help interviewer to understand candidate in detail. 
  2. clarity of role: instead of communicating just good things about company or what company is looking into candidates give realistic picture of the company, its culture, leadership. also identify the candidates real interest and passion. this will save both parties resources.   
  3. Provide clear road map: define specific KRAs and provide clear and easy to follow JD. show them clear road map for success, which can enhance employees to grow with the company. it ill help to find right candidate and also candidate will start deliver from the day one. 
  4. Give clarity & purpose: provide clarity and purpose of organisation and connect candidates purpose to organisation goal. sense of belonging to company goals will bring motivation and energy in candidates performance. 
  5. Improve on interview methods: there are number of interview methods, but best one i feel is meeting one to one. the personal interview meeting gives in-depth knowledge about to both candidate & organisation. Try to make it as simple as possible. do not ask candidates to come for more then two-three interview rounds. try to finish interview in same day if possible. Give feedback as early as possible.
these are only few ways which i feel more important to consider in general. Hiring right talents is a continue process. it is evolving every day. the employer / HR professionals plays very important role in hiring, he must communicate information about organisation as much as possible to candidates so that candidates can connect himself to the organisations as whole and make himself committed to achieve common goals.
